Default Ecu compatibility with Jdm type R

Hey guys - I'm sure this is beating a dead horse but I wasn't able to find an answer that applies to my specific set up.

Car is a 1993 Integra rs
Motor- 2000 Jdm type R, stock w/ bolt ons
Trans - cable ys1 (short gears, lsd, built by Syncrotech)
Engine harness- rywire obd1 harness with obd2 plugs(distributor, injectors, alt)
Ecu-????

I have a obd1 ecu that I had tuned for an old all motor B18c1 setup that I had. I also have the Jdm type R p73 ecu obd2a that came with the swap ...

My question is, can I get an obd1-obd2a jumper harness and run the Jdm p73 ecu with my setup for a year or so until I can make it to the dyno?

I know the Jdm ecu will not look for Cfk sensor, vtec oil pressure and sendondary o2 sensor but I assume it will look for the vehicle speed sensor ... My cable ys1 trans has a mechanical speedo cable ... Will this Jdm ecu throw an ecu code for vss and cause the vehicle not to be able to engage Vtec?

you can do that but i think it would be more beneficial to stay obd1 and tune her, you can use your obd1 ecu u have and just disable whatever it is u need too. I swap my electrical vss for a mechanical vss, im sure you can put a electrical vss in ur cable trans and just plug in the rywire harness. good luck.

Thanks - I was hoping to run the Jdm ecu for a while to save some money vs a tune .... If I do run an electric vss in my cable trans and plug it in- will this communicate with my speedo cluster and work? I know the cable physically spins my speedo causing it to read an mph ? Thanks for the reply
