Default fastuun? learning how to tune.

I've been looking around and I found this guys. I'm not looking to learn for a professional living but just to mess around with my own car.

Also found HP academy and efi 101.

Anyways, any info will help.

Mostly reviews if anybody has used them. I have the aem, crome, hondata, Neptune and a book(forgot name).

But I really want to take a course and right now fastuun has a sale. That's why I ask.

I actually just bought their starters edition and EFI simplified classes. So far halfway through the starters edition and its pretty basic. Most of the generic beginner details like anything can be found on the internet. I can give you insight on the EFI simplified reviews as I get through them more.

Literally the basics, lol. Requirements for an engine to work (you know, the big four spark, fuel, air, and compression), basics of ignition timing and what TDC/BDC, why your ignition is advanced to 12-16deg for utilizing the inertia of air and reduction of stress on your bearings/rod journals/rods etc. and I stopped so far on the basic calculations for displacement, fuel injector sizing, volumetric efficiency and what it means, and basics on air fuel ratio and the differences between fuel types, the engine (NA or turbo) values, and the theory behind peak horse power (12.86:1 i think) and optimal fuel efficiency (15:1~)...

Again, right now this is just the starter course and he goes into great detail about each component. The EFI simplified course is like 40 plus videos that are like 15 hours total that go over every single little detail of tuning. Eventually in this starter course I will see how to build a map and set up the car for dyno/road tuning.

5 important parts for a motor

You forgot about timing

Do you have a motor you are going to apply this new knowledge to that you arent afraid of blowing?

The 'important' parts list is actually about 6-7 things he talks about... I mentioned those four as they are the minimum basics of understanding how an engine works.

and yes, my B-Series build listed below.

I purchsed the EFI Simplified course on sale but then I was bombarded with other rediculously priced "additions" which made me cancel the checkout process.

Not surprisenly, I received a "congratulations" email and my CC was billed. I contacted Fastuun and was told I couldn't cancel as stated on their website and was asked "why did I bother to order"? - wrong answer!

I threatened to file a claim with my CC company and my money was quickly returned.

As far as my first impression with Customer Support - Fail.

Yeah... the history of Church Automotive tuning is a mixture of good and bad experiences. I emailed Jack a handful of times and he seemed to respond pretty quickly.

ooooooo lol

Yeah as I go along I'll follow up with you turbo. I know you have experience with standalones and stuff through self taught experience but I figured this course would help put some theory on paper for me. It's a reference not a bible.

I recommend reading

Amazon.com: Designing and Tuning High-Performance Fuel Injection Systems eBook: Greg Banish: Kindle Store Amazon.com: Designing and Tuning High-Performance Fuel Injection Systems eBook: Greg Banish: Kindle Store

It'll give you a pretty good understanding on speed density and tuning.
