What size muffler do I need to accommodate my Exhaust system?
I'm going to buy a Apexi WS2 muffler but idk what they mean by 70mm and so on. My car has a 2.25 straight pipe with stock del sol exhaust. Would anyone know which muffler I would need? here is the link to Apexi products thanks!
according to acronym finder 70mm may refer to "Micky Mouse" or "millimeter."
assuming Apexi hasn't started welding ears onto their mufflers, I would go with millimeters. 70mm translated to american is 2.75 inches. your 2.25 straight pipe is about 57mm.

Ok thank you very much greatly appreciate the help
...Old enough to drive, and does not recognize the contraction for milimeters? What the heck are they teaching in public school since I left it? 0_o
Since you have a h series engine what size muffler would be best 70mm so enough pressure can be released? I only want the muffler for my future h2b build.

Also, come here and throw around "white privilege" and see how much respect it gets you. This isn't tumblr.
As for the answer to your question, I will say that there is plenty of discussion on exhaust sizes, and what you need is dependent on what your goals are and where you want your powerband to be. 70mm is plenty big for most street H22's.
Not really dumb kids. If you keep a community in poverty the individuals will receive education from poor teachers, poor environment, poor jobs, and people "children" etc; who have a better community ( white collar communities) will have a better environment (community), better teachers, better jobs etc. So not being spoon fed just less motivation due to social stimuli this process is a never ending circle. Yet what do I know i'm just some apparent fool.
Just...no, no. You do not get into Japanese cars and make plans for an engine swap without becoming familiar with certain fundamentals of the way the entire rest of the world measures things. Not unless you're skimming car magazines on the bookstore shelf as your sole source of information. And you're here so that isn't the case.

On the contrary this is a social site so it's ok for me to say that. Or should I say that "...Old enough to drive, and does not recognize the contraction for milimeters? What the heck are they teaching in public school since I left it? 0_o" as I am quoting from you is something respectable to say? Or is that a Tumblr opinion? I don't care if me saying white privilege gets me no respect, because me saying that is not disrespecting white people and if you feel offended than sorry for you being ignorant and taking that as something to feel offended by.
Thanks for your answer 2.75inches is kind of big for a 4 banger, but I will need to dp research yet I dont want to produce too much power on a H22.
The thing is the metric system has nothing to do with any privilege. Its the basic system of measurement used by almost the entire rest of the world...you definitely need too learn it if you intend to work on cars (unless you ONLY work on Chevy or dodge).

Lastly, if you're planning on doing an H2B or whatever swap...start by getting the motor, and getting it on a stand. Don't worry about silly little things like mufflers yet. You have bigger things to research, like adapter plates, mounts, clutches etc. The muffler will come last, obviously.

I'm not offended. And this is a tech site first and foremost, a place where people come for help when they have exhausted their google skills. Regularly there are threads posted by people who have either plainly not done basic research, or who's skills at research are so poor it's a wonder they comprehended their driver's training manual. And here you come, looking for advice on modifying an imported car, confessing your own lack of research, and you don't know the fundamentals of how the rest of the world, and an increasing amount of people in the USA measure things. On top of that, when challenged, you throw down the millennial's race-card. What else are we to see but an example of everything we fear corroding these bastions of knowledge?
Don't throw the huurrr duurrrr "I didn't learn in school gimme gimme" and expect us to feel sorry and spoon feed you.
You're never too old to learn something new. It is also better to remove all doubt by finding out for yourself the truth, rather than trusting somebody told you the right info and it be wrong and costing you.
