Default Car wont start (New Starter)

I just realized I put this in the wrong place, can a mod move this please? Sorry I just woke up this car has me crazy lol

Hey guys Im having a problem with me (A/T 1997 HONDA ACCORD 2.2L)

My car wasnt starting and i figured it was the starters fault because when I tapped it the car then started. But up into yesterday it completely died, when i would jump the starter it would just make a click sound so I removed it and replaced it.

Once I put the new starter in, it didnt start -_- so i jumped the starter and it started. Then after it was on I went inside turned it off. Then I turned it on 4 times with the key so I thought it was all good.

I went back inside came back to the car and it wouldnt start again fml....
Everything inside works but the car wont do anything when trying to start it. My guess would be the ignition switch, mainly because I wiggled it a couple times and it turned on for me once, but after that absolutely nothing. its completely broken.

What do you guys think? Today im going to check if the starter is getting the 12v it needs to start once i get my multi-meter back from my buddy. But what if it does? lol then what can it be?

Yes, you need to check if you're getting voltage to the small starter wire when you turn the key to the start position.

Yea I haven't had time, but that's the first thing I'm going to check. If I'm not getting any voltage can it be 100 percent the ignition switch? I really doubt it would be the cable

So now im starting to thing it could be the main relay. i here it clicking when i turn the key but still nothing. i live in miami and its pretty hot outside when it doesnt want to turn on. could that be the problem?

So i tried to jump start my car from the ignition cables, I know its the white cable and the black and white cable. But then i touched them my headlights turned off almost as if theres a short. So is it possible that my starter cable wire is shorted? Since I can jump start the car by touching my starter lead with my battery....

Check your battery connections and grounds. Sounds like the same thing I recently went through on a 90 ACCORD and it was a loose ground.

If you bought a new starter you have to check and see if the car is cranking or just clicking(a no crank start). If its cranking then the starter is gettting power and it might be another issue. If its not cranking make sure all the connections are tgiht and your battery terminals are tight. I have gotten bad starter so if you do everything correctly and it still doesnt start go get it re-checked. Also check your alternator make sure it putting out the right voltage. Dead alternator will kill the battery and if you had a good battery and the car keeps dying it could be that. Just do a good check. Doubt i the feul pump or anything crazy like that

Clearly it was too much to ask for you to test for voltage at the starter wire and report back.

People love finding creative ways to make things that are fairly easy to diagnose, take as long as humanly possible to diagnose instead.

Clearly it was too much for you to handle to not be an ******* LOL. Did he not say towards the end of the first post that he was going to grab a meter and test the 12V wire?

Were all here with the same intentions and only can do so much over the internet.

If helping people here on a daily basis and handing out constructive criticism is your idea of being an *******, then I'm guilty as charged.

It's funny you mention what he said he would do, but still hasn't done, yet somehow I'm wrong for having pointed it out.

My definition of an ******* is someone calling someone else an *******. I'm fairly confident I did no such thing. But I know someone else that did.

Hey guys sorry I was actually out of state, last night I tested for 12v on the starter lead and got nothing, so this morning I put a cable from my ignition switch to my starter and it starts up every time. So my guess is that my old starter might have burnt my cable. I'm going to check the cable Wednesday on my day off. But atleast I know it's not the ignition switch. But it still might be the neutral switch but I doubt it. 👍🏻
