2009-Up Honda Pilot Oil Consumption Service Bulletin
Can anyone shed light or is there a thread related to the 2009 and up Pilot engine consuming 1 qt of oil per 1000 miles and being acceptable oil burn off at according to Honda's policy. Which adds up to 3 to 6 qts between oil changes which if you're like me checks the oil not regularly but only after the oil change to make sure they put oil back in or didn't over fill it. Maybe making a mandatory habit to check the oil or add oil once a week is a small trade off for a hauss of a vehicle!?!
Have been looking at buying a pilot I have a friend who says they're tanks and I've asked a few technicians and they seem to have never seen a Pilot needing major engine or transmission repair. I never buy anything with a tow hitch, especially when I'm looking at a CRX!
Are there year models to stay away from? I was looking at a 2007 which I believe may be the 2nd gen or whatever year the 2nd gen is, but that's still 2009 style engine. Would this fall under the ridiculous oil consumption?
