Help: Downpipe 4-2-1 gasket and ignition timing
Hi all,
1. I am having a leak at the 4-2-1 header-downpipe junction. I bought new ring gaskets but the leak is not stopped. I also bought the ebay 4-2-1 gasket (silver paper-lookin gasket) but that didn't help. I cleaned/scraped both surfaces before installing. What can I do to stop the leak? Is there a metal gasket that I can buy (I searched but there is none offered for the 1995 Accord EX 2.2L).
2. Do I have to jumper the ECU when I check ignition timing? When I checked the timing without the jumper, the timing is ~13 degree BTC. The specs indicate timing should be ~15 degree BTC. Am I wrong to check without using the jumper? What is the correct ECU-adjusted timing?
Thanks for your help.

Part 10 is what you want and you have to gently torque it in several stages in a criss cross patern for it not to leak.
2. The specs are 15 +- 2 degrees so you are in spec but you want it at 15 which is ideal.

I don't know if it matters but I did try using the Walker 31586 Walker Exhaust Gasket 31586: Advance Auto Parts
I guess it's a one-time use because it's totally flatten now. I'll try again.
