Default Cabin fan died (bad motor?) '92 VX

The cabin fan suddenly no longer works. As I recall, my last civic VX suffered the same issue and it would smell like burning rubber if I turned the fan on for more than a short period of time. If I recall right, replacing the fan motor fixed the problem. In the current case I haven't tried to turn the fan on for more than a second or two as I don't want to make that smell or harm something. But maybe I should as a way to help diagnose whether its the motor or something else?

Get a dmm and test the blower motor connection for power.

Or jump power and ground directly from battery to blower to see if it runs.

I would pull it out and test the motor and connector, usually just a few screws to get the blower out. More often than not the blowers get full of leaves and stuff and burnup. Most likely could find a replacement dirt cheap in a scrap yard.
