Icon5 1996 Accord EX, SRS Light on, can't get MES connector to work

On my 96 accord, I got it up and running but now the SRS light is on. It wasn't on before, and I replaced the seat so I figured that was why. I found the MES connector (verify for me that it's the right one in the picture). When I jumper it in the "on" position, the light just remains on. The connector seems to have no effect on the dash light. Is there something I'm missing. Everything is stock, and the only thing I changed in the interior was the driver's seat.

The second picture is of the seat wiring. I connected the matching white/black and red/black connectors. The power seat portion works fine, so I know all that wiring is fine. Ideas?

I tried jumpering the diagnostic connector (by the glove box), and the CEL lights up and doesn't blink because there is no codes. The SRS light just remains on, it doesn't blink at all. Isn't the SRS light suppose to blink the code, or am I suppose to jumper something else?

The SRS won't reset, and when I try to check the codes it just stays a steady light. I checked the SRS fuse and it's fine, there is 12V of power. Any ideas?

Too lazy to look up the SRS diagnostics, but pretty sure no yellow connector/wiring should be unplugged. It should be installed into equipment or a plug.
Even on later models you ONLY use the two wire BLUE connector for diagnostics or the OBDII plug.

The yellow connector is the MES, which doesn't connect to anything. That is the only yellow connector I even touched.

The blue connector is what I've been using, jumpering it and I can get CEL, ABS, but the SRS doesn't show any codes and just stays lit like everything is normal. The OBD2 plug won't show SRS codes, only engine/transmission related.
