Default RHD CR-X Del Sol SIR TransTop (Problem)

Ok so like title says I have a RHD CR-X Del Sol SIR TransTop. Pretty rare so this is a long shot..

I first got my transtop working one night and used it 5 or 6 times to see how it works, how well it works etc etc. Next day I hook up my alternator and boom transtops not working.. makes a click in the back but does nothing. After resetting both ecu for car and the transtop and resetting the battery I retraced my steps and unhooked my alternator and sure enough it works perfect again! Now everything I want to work it I just un hook it. Anyone know what could be causing this????

Heres a quick shitty quality vid of me working the transtop for the 1st time.

I would start off with checking the wiring leading from the alternator, look for a wire grounding out and shorting. Then carefully inspect the underhood fuse box for problems, as the transtop operation depends on Fuses No.41 and No.39. Then check your under dash fusebox for problems, trans sys depends on No.12 and No.15. (The transtop system relies on the alternator thru a WHT/BLU wire at pin/position 1 on the Roof Control Unit which is in the trunk..seems you might be suffering from a loom problem or a faulty roof control unit) The Roof Control Unit has a diagnosis light in it that will blink out codes for you, judging by your problem, you SHOULD be seeing a code 10. Could also be a faulty alternator.

Very Basic Wiring Schematic here:

[ + -] Battery --- [Underhood Fuses 41--39] --- IG Switch (Bat-IG1) --- [Underdash Fuses 12 and 15]
[Fuse 12] --- VSS(on trans) --- [Roof Warning Unit(behind pass seat)]
[Fuse 15] ===[Roof Warning Unit/Roof Alarm(behind pass seat)/Roof Warning Light(in dash)]
[Roof Warning Unit] === [GRY wire/PNK wire/BLU/RED wire]
[GRY wire] --- Roof Holder Switch (in trunk,pass side)
[PNK wire] --- Left Roof Lock Switch(rear of roof)
[BLU/RED wire] --- Right Roof Lock Switch(rear of roof)

[Fuse No.12 in Underdash box] --BLK/YEL wire-- [Alternator] --WHT/BLU wire-- [Roof Control Unit Pos.1 marked ACG(L)]

Hope that helps...

Hope that helps... As a bonus, if you dont already have it HERE is a copy of my EDM CRX Del Sol w/transtop FSM files. Good luck and good hunting.
Man thank you soooo much for this great info! was not expecting anyone to know of it at all. That was the plan to check each wire to the alternator, the UCU does blink just wasn't sure what the code was saying since I haven't downloaded it yet. The alternator was on my gsr last year then sat in the trunk for the winter and now was just painted so it could be bad but I don't see any power surging of any sort from any lights.

I see you're in Canada. Another issue is that Canadian alternators for Civics are different from US ones (more / fewer pins). Might be the same for JDM ones, since they have an ELD and Canadian ones don't.

Wow I never even thought of that at all! Soo how would I go about correcting this?
