Default Mini-Me my Girl's 95 LX

So.. my girl got an auto 95 LX for $100 with 191,000km in pretty damn good shape.

Some jerk tried to steal it for a joyride and busted the ignition. Already installed a new one and done maintenance and it's on the road.

It's not a bad car, handles great but could use a bit more passing power. I've worked on Civics quite a bit (82 wagon, 87 hatch, 91 si hatch w/JDM SOHC ZC) and already half pulled a z6 head out of one in the yard.

There's also a y8 right beside it, wondering if it's worth going OBD2 while I'm at it, I haven't researched what's involved with this but I'm sure it's just a search away, but if anyone wanted to comment..most of what I've read is, it's not worth it and if you're OBD1 then use the z6 and stay OBD1..

One thing I haven't been able to find out for sure is if the AUTO trans has different ratios between the models like the MT does. Unfortunately, I haven't yet been able to convince her to go MT. I know the AT will soak up most of any power increase but I really just want some extra passing power on the highway. If there is a shorter ratio AT, I'm sure that'll help a lot.

Can someone point me to a compression calc? I'm thinking about running the 88-89 teg pistons for a bit of extra compression maybe, I know I'll have to bump the octane probably but with a calc I can decide on parts.

If I'm right what I need is basically:
z6 head, vtec solenoid/wire/plug, dizzy, plugs & wires
p28 ecu
z6 timing belt
y8 head gasket

I'm probably gonna use the z6 intake mani and t/b though I'm curious what other options might be better, the y8 intake mani looks like it might be better than the z6.. I don't know what exhaust mani is on the car now, but the exhaust is basically brand new so for now I'd rather leave it. (For now..)

To be honest my main question is about the AT transaxle ratios, I'll do some searching maybe but a pointer in the right direction would be appreciated.

Though, I'm going to keep wearing her down on the MT.. Then we can throw in a Si short like I had in my 91. :D

Save your money. If you really want to swap it for passing power what about a B18B with AT trans?

Interesting you should say that.

I just picked up another '95 (CX hatch, same color as the LX sedan) with a b18b1 in it. It's a 5-speed though, girlfriend is actually gonna give it a try..

I did find the answer to my question, and that's the DX has a transaxle with a 4th that's slightly different but hardly, also has higher shift points. Definitely not worth the swap.

I'm probably still going to throw the z6 head on hers but only go for 10.1:1 instead. My goal was only ever more passing power, though, eventually wanted to tune it, turbo and MT swap..

Now that I have my own B though..
