Z6 true OBD2 to 1 conv.
So I've hit some hiccups in the road, but I plan on building a Z6, so I'm gonna buy an eBay block and fully build it as time goes on. My question is, are there any HARDWARE differences between the OBD2 Z6s, and the OBD1 Z6s? Like since I'm building from the ground up, I imagine I can buy an OBD2 engine, and source OBD1 sensors, VTEC solenoid, etc. to bolt on, clip up and eventually drop in. I know it'll hike the price, but I'd like to use new parts where I can anyway. I'm planning an all out boosted Street build. It would be going into an EF, so I'd be converting the car to OBD1.

I am not sure where you got the idea there is a D16Z6 motor that is OBD2.
As far as I know, they stopped making the D16Z6 in 95 which is OBD1.
JDM motors won't have the Z6 designation instead they did things like 5 variants of D15B, all as D15B nothing else.
Please do elaborate on the Z6 OBD2.

But you know what the question is still valid. Could I build an OBD1 Y8 by the same token? I won't be cause I don't like spun bearings but if I so desired?

The sensors all function exactly the same, the distributor functions exactly the same, the only difference is a few plugs are different and the Y8 has a CKF sensor that you simply wont use.
