So I got an older tape deck from the local yard that I am trying to hook up. I got the security code from the dealer but putting it in does nothing. Is there a trick for putting the code in?

You get three tries then are locked out for a while. Enter the 5 digits slowley but not slow enough to cause a error. When entering all 5 you will here a beep and the radio will turn on. You Must have the key on and code showing on the display.

 

Does unplugging it and plugging it back in reset my tries?

 

It may be toast, my Acura CD player just lights up and then I enter the code and 87.7 comes on.
