usdm b18c vetch solenoid work on jdm b18c itr?
I have a 98 jdm b18c type r. The vtech solenoid wire came out of the vtech soleniod cap. Will a usdm vtech soleniod (top part) not the spool valve, work on my jdm type r? I cannot for the life of me find a jdm vtech soleniod top part. only a usdm type r vtech soleniod that costs 207$ at acura;(. Any answers will be greatly appreciated. If possible can I take that vtech cap off to splice the wire back on? It seems that I can't, but any suggestions will help. Thanx in advance, Dave

If it is from a "B" series engine, and the solenoid is the same size (not an OBD-0 JDM B16A or USDM B17A "big" solenoid) as your current JDM ITR vtec solenoid, then YES... it will work.
k, im just trying to make sure the top end (solenoid) (usdm type r) will work with the jdm type r spool valve.? I can get one from acura the top soleniod for 207$, , however it's usdm type r and not jdm type r. so you say it's the same dimensions?
@ JRCivic1.... So I have the original spool valve/vtech solenoid on the engine. jdm
=obd2. I bought an after market one skunk2 billet series spool valve. so in the process of taking the old spool valve off is when the wire just fell out. so until I can get a new vtech soleniod i can't or wont put on the new spool valve. The thing is I can only find a vtech soleniod at acura thats a usdm type r one, your saying its the same size as the jdm obd2 vtech soleniod??? Thank you much!

I beleive the diffrence is the preasure switch if im not mistaken. I guess The Americans cant wait for the car to warm up properlly so they desighned this switch to prevent that but thats just what i read here lol,
