Default no start in AM start in PM

Have a 92 accord 5 speed 4 banger and past 2 days in the am leaving for work car will not start and in the afternoon it will start. When it would not start in the AM there is no sound from the motor at all, dash lights works. The 1st day tried to jump it it would not jump. Got home and tried it it started so i moved it so i could pop the clutch which i did have to. I went to Advance to test the starter but did not bc had to turn off the car and afraid it would not start. The guy at Advance said something about the distributor. Got home and looked at the clutch pedal switch and that part on the pedal was gone. I put a bolt and nut in it. What you think it could be and need to do? How would it start with the clutch pedal switch part not there to work? thanks

If the switch on the clutch pedal is broken or faulty it will not allow the starter to engage.
It is part of the safety interlock.

Two switches on the clutch pedal.....one for the cruise and another for the "inter lock", which one was it.....as Mike stated if it was the upper one - interlock - the starter would NEVER spin. If it was the lower one, you might have just fixed the cruise control

Need to test the voltage on the small wire to the starter solenoid - are you getting 12v on it when the starter is not working?
