Default ID725cc settings in Hondata S300, P74 file

Can someone please help me with setting up my ID725cc injectors on a Hondata S300 system? I'm currently running the car on the Hondata P74 file that is available in the library. Its a completely stock engine oil pan to valve cover, turbo charged, and i'm looking to get the car running/driving on the bigger injectors so I can drive tot he dyne appt.

I see that there is a ID1000 drop down setting in the S300, but i'm not sure if the dead time or voltage comp setting are the same with those as the 725cc injectors.

My email is drabbag@gmail.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a wideband on the car and will be able to monitor accordingly.

My tuner is able to do this later in the week but i'm anxious and wanted to try to get it running beforehand

Thanks,
Chris

The tables injector presets in Hondata are relatively new so they don't have everything (yet). When in doubt, go to the source.

ID725 Injectors - Injector Dynamics

Thanks, I'll give that a try tonight. I did check the values that Hondata has supplied for the 1000cc injectors and they align with the data from ID's website (for 1000cc) for the 50psi fuel pressure range.

I'm using a completely stock fuel rail, regulator, lines, ect... so unless i'm mistaken I need to take values from the 43.5psi row out of the 725cc table on the ID website.

I'm sure i'm overthinking this... as usual

As long as you are using the stock FPR and fuel pump you need to use your dynamic fuel pressure. If you upgraded your fuel pump to say a 255 lph and still have a stock FPR, your fuel pressure will be higher than normal.

Use the dead time settings for the 55 psi row on the chart. Injector Dynamincs posts their data for DYNAMIC fuel pressure, not rail pressure.

Set your "current injector size" to 650 and go from there. Yes, set for 650cc not 725cc. You will find this to be very close to ideal a/f upon startup.

Thanks for the feedback! I ended up calling ID and got the same response, I need to use the dynamic fuel pressure (no vacuum attached).

OneBadTurboCRV, I do have a Walboro that I forgot to mention... good call.

@HAMOTORSPORTS, do you recommend using the Inector size setting to tweak the AF as opposed to overall fuel trims? For instance, if I start with 650 and the car is a bit rich or lean, should I modify that value as opposed to adding a +- overall fuel trim?

Thanks!!

Either method will work, however by changing the injector size setting you will also be adjusting throttle tip-in and cranking trims to match. When you adjust the overall fuel trim, you are only adjusting the global fuel values and not adjusting tip-in/ cranking fuel/etc.

We typically adjust "current injector size" until the approximate air/fuel ratios are achieved, then adjust cranking and tip-in separately during tuning. Every tuner has their own method they prefer, but this is what we have found to work well.

You are the man, thanks so much.

I changed the injector size to 650, set the dead time values using the 55psi row (and dividing by 1000).

Car started up and was idling great within seconds. Rock solid at 14.7 after getting to temperature. Went for a drive around the block and it ran smoothly. That is all I need is to have the car drivable to my dyne session Saturday.

Thanks again!

My pleasure. Be sure to post the results after tuning!
