Icon5 Need help on Amber lighting on cluster

Hey!

'98 civic lx automatic
My cluster is dim af, I can't see almost anything at night. So, I want to get that amber look on it now that I have to exchange the bulbs anyway.

I went ahead and bought 1 194/T10 and 5 #74 LEDs. Do I just swap the ones with the brown back?

Also, I've heard some cars, by removing the cluster, can activate the airbag. Is this the case with '98 civics?

No, removing the cluster won't deploy your airbags. Just swap the bulbs that fit - it's not rocket science.

I just finished doing this with mine. Disconnect the battery first to be safe! Also, to get amber bulbs will need either an amber colored glass or those vinyl amber/red covers that go over the mini bulbs. Someone did sell them when I was doing my research. Or just get amber colored LED bulbs. Also, the bulbs just twist off the back and pull out. You should (while you're at it) make sure the screws are snug on the back. It is what was causing my intermittent speedo issue, after this many years the screws loosened up! Tightened them down, all is well! love the cheap fixes!
