Default Zc = 1.5l?

How true is it that only zc's came as 1.6's? I recently did a mini me swap with a "zc" (stamp says zc from some single cam) bottom end and a d15b vtec head. So when I looked at the block the pistons say "pm3" on them. Didnt think anything of it at the time. When I swaped the head I also replaced the water pump, which only a d15 pump worked as the 1.6 didn't line up. Once I installed the head, timing was way off with a d16a6 cam gear so I swapped in the d16y8/y7 cam gear and was able to set timing. Car runs fine. So everywhere on the Internet it says only zc's came as 1.6's. I was only able to find one case where someone had what seemed like a d15 labeled as "zc" on the engine block and information didn't go to far. Anyone else had this? I used Google to search ht for my answer since I couldn't use the search function on ht cause my criteria is to small when looking for "zc" or d15. If there isn't a 1.5 labeled "zc" on the block why am I using 1.5 components for replacement parts and for my minime? Can anyone explain this?

Someone swapped it out before you. If you really want to verify, you'd need to measure the height of the block and/or measure the stroke and rod length. Off the top of my head I believe all the D-series 1.6 blocks are 212mm and D-series 1.5 blocks are 207mm (rough estimate).

It shouldn't be swapped out cause it was a "stock" jdm engine from an importer, unless they swapped it out in Japan which I think is highly unlikely. I'll look it up and see what it is. When u say measure the block, are you talking abut the length of the cylinder walls?

Block height. It's literal, oil pan to deck surface.

a "stock" imported engine means it was an engine from a junkyard in another country than the US. The importer doesn't have a clue what it was in in most cases. Depending on where it really came from (it could have come out of a car in one country and bought in bulk to be exported by a shipped in a second country for example) you could get most anything...my first "30k mile" imported engine came with complete dash, engine and front half of car harnesses...and the cluster....which showed 121,000 km, 75k miles which is a lot more than the 30k miles promised...

anyway measure that deck height. lots of people swear there is no such thing as a 1.5 zc, but none of them work at honda, and people have said they have 1.5 zc engines for years...supposedly there may have been a dual carb 1.5 zc, but peopel swear that doesnt exist either...
