Sooo long story short im a grassroots drifter and just blew up my turbo 1.6 miata motor. Im picking up a 40000 mile Honda J35a4 engine from an 04 Odyssey. My HP goal is 350+. My question is, what performance upgrades are out there for this motor. I know its not going to be honda odyssey specific, but im looking for cam/piston/rod kits that will swap in from another Honda or Acura. Ive googled but couldnt find any good results, and not being familiar with Hondas, I need some guidance
get a j37a1 crank rods, and use the j32a2 pistons. throw that in a j32a2 block or j35a3 block. port the intake manifold and runners, custom longtube header and tune. closest to your goal without going custom. you would need a crank snout spacer because the crank is shorter. you can get that at powerrevracing.com
Im a J noob. So im wondering, Why go to the effort of using a j37 crank in a j35? Why not just go straight to the j37 engine. What tuning options are available for these motors? BTW, cool project idea.

J37 wont fit with the swap kit im using, decided to go with a J32a1 as i found one for $250...gonna do what flatblackh22 suggested, then top it off with a 50 shot of NOS, tuned in with AEM

Because the 2nd gen version of the motor (the single port exhaust) transmission bolt pattern is different. The motor is also DBW (drive by wire) vs cable. Try and find a j32a2 usually about 400 bucks. Stronger block because of the extra webbing.

Thanks man
Can I use a j32a1? I found one for 250
The difference being it's base model as opposed to type s? Shouldn't bottom end be the same?
