Default no reverse lights?

after I changed my clutch my reverse lights never came on. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I checked the fuse and the bulbs and they both were fine. any other suggestions?

there's a plug (2 wires) usually rest on top of the tranny, underneath the distributor...make sure its clean and plugged.

yo man, I was wondering if there is anything else that triggers the reverse lights? I checked the 2 plugs and yes they are cleaned and plugged in. Could there be a pressure switch in the tranny or something? again, let me know...thanks a lot man!!

Try tracing those two wires and I think they lead somewhere by the base of your shifter. If they were working before and stopped after you replace the clutch...that would be the only thing I'd check...I will check my book when i get home and repost...

I had the same problem after we did my B16 swap. I just wired up a toggle switch to actuate my reverse lights. This way if a cop is behind me i can just push the button, and i've got reverse lights. Only problem is that i bump the button a lot (it's under my e-brake) and sometimes drive w/ my reverse lights on. I actually got pulled over for that once. heehhe Anyways, i love this switch also because when someone is riding my ***- i just turn my bright *** reverse lights on (especially at night) and they get off my *** real quick

Those 2 wires lead to a switch that goes on the tranny. It's a $25 part from Honda. I changed it and mine work now.

oh man what a coincidence! i just noticed that my reverse lights on my 89 hb doesn't work either. i thought it was just the bulbs but when i looked under the hood the wires coming from that switch on the tranny was connected to each other. there's only one wire out of two that supposed to be connected to those other two wires. F@#$!!!!!!! man what the hell was that guy who i bought the car from just recently doing? this sucks!

the reverse light relay for my car was located on the core support under the hood on the pass. side. But I have a b16a swap so it was prolly relocated.
I am talking about the relay that is dedicated to the reverse lights.
