Default cam bearing 2nd opinion

Was told the intake can bearing would be OK it has a small crack that does catch the finger nail. What do you think?

I'm no expert but if I were looking for any kind of internal hp gains I wouldn't trust it.

I'd double check the cam to journal clearance also. I dont know how media blasting machined surfaces could affect the mating surfaces of the cam caps clearance wise.

I really don't understand your Question... Are you asking what we think about the Journal? It looks fine. RUn your finger over it, if you don't feel indentations you're good..

There's is a very small crack forming at the edge of the hole. I had to zoom in to see it.
If your really concerned you could very very carefully blend out the crack in a downward only direction to remove it and keep it from spreading. But it is so small, I kinda think you would be ok as well. I'm no expert either.

I would think that crack will get worse with vibration. Kinda risky imo.

I'm brining it to a local machine shop for a port match today and I'll see what he thinks of the crack.

You know what because of how the wording was augmented to the right I didn't see it. I see it now. It doesn't look too bad, however how and why is it cracking is more concerning. I have never saw that in my life.

I personally don't see a crack... do you mean the journal or next to the cam cap hole? I noticed you mentioned hole. the journal looks fine. If there is a crack at the cam cap mount hole you should be fine just don't over tighten any bolts torque them to spec and be done with it.

Look right at about the 9 o clock position at the head bolt hole, but on the journal. Its very small.

Is it ok to media blast the machined mating surfaces of the cam caps like that? I would think it could affect the clearance in some way.

I'd be more worried about the fact that all of your machined mating/gasketing surfaces have been media blasted. That's not right.
