Default Mini me question

I have been searching threads and Google for a few days now but can't answer this question.

I have a 97 civic not sure what trim model. Has the 5spd d16y7 motor.

I just got a y8 head, intake and everything. But when I got the set up it came with a p2p-a31 ecu. Which I believe is obd2a, my current ecu is a p28 and the plugs appear to be obd2b because it doesn't use the far right plug.

I thought 97 was obd2a? Does this mean I need to get a p2p obd2b ecu? Hoping to do the swap in a few weeks and want to make sure everything is correct.

sparky, you've got obd2a. the ecu is correct as long as its obd2a.

Are you really trying to modify an autotragic? Stop that. It doesn't work that way. Then go read the rules sticky.

Car was converted over to a manual but apparently still has the old ecu on it. I bought it that way.

That's what I couldn't figure out because all of the pictures of ecus only used three plugs. I'm learning alright, just be happy I'm getting rid of my eclipse and got a civic haha.

get rid of the a/t ecu. youll need a manual ecu and to do a 3 to 2 wire iacv conversion.

You might be able to remove resistors disabling the A/T for the ecu. I know the OBD1's are like that.

I'm getting ready to make her right
Just trying to make sure I have everything correct before I rip into it. I should, it's the 4 plugs on the ecu is what messed me up.
