Re: need help eg 1.5 motor and automatic tranny in ek
Hello all i could use some assistance in the issue im am having...
first off let me thank you in advance. Thanks to this Forum i have solved a few problems with the information i find on here but this one has me stumped.
i have searched for a couple days but dont find anything pertaining to this kind of issue. if its here and i missed it im sorry but i really did do alot of searching and reading.
I picked up a pretty decent looking 96 ej dx 4 door shell for $300 it was an automatic but came with no motor or trans. Being im fairly new to working on hondas i believed all d series engine and trannys were interchangeable so i got a good deal on a eg 1.5 motor and tranny automatic for $250
the ek had b series conversion mounts but in the trunk were the original d series mounts so i installed those and dropped in engine and tranny with the help of my nephew.. after reading alot on here i got it to start. turns out theres an alternator fuse that if blown/missing will not give fuel and spark (who knew) but the issue i am having is the transmission mounting.. it dont sit right.. the tranny is sitting extremely low low enough that when looking at the engine from the front u can clearly see it sloping to the left. my nephew said the holes dont line up and after having him try to explain to me what he did im even more confused lol..
i believe we are using the ek tranny mount but like i said bolt holes to tranny are off. so how can i fix this issue? what mounts or brackets should i be using? i want it to sit correctly and not look like the hack job it looks like now. Please any help would be apprecited

What engine and transmission?
FYI - Putting an older engine into a newer chassis won't pass emission/inspection tests in some states.

i dont think so since the motor sits fine its the pass side aka the tranny mount that dont match the tranny

Also post pics of all mounts.

By the sounds, you don't have the manual transmission mounts.
From what you have said, you had b series mounts and the automatic d series mounts.
The mounts are different between the automatic and the manual for the d-series.
You need to get the manual mounts.
I'm trying to remember if there is any difference on the chassis between the two....

TomCat, he's using an Autotragic swap, so I'm not sure what makes you say that standard transmission mounts would solve his problem. Mounts aside, given the stock wiring harness, you're going to play absolute hell getting the correct ECU to make that car run right. Why are there so many autotragic failthreads popping up?

This has me curious and I'm going to have to take a closer look at all the mounts between my two cars (one auto, one manual).
I would think any of the swap DIY threads would be fruitful for this issue.

Brain not working, thanks for the correction. I assumed the chassis mounting points stayed the same between manual and auto, but now thinking about how one is two bolt and one is three bolt, that probably isn't a good assumption. So anyways, I had figured the problem was with the transmission mounts themselves.

Yeah, thats what I figured was the issue.
Also that so called integra bracket that you claim the person who installed used, thats actually part of the civic auto tranny as well so its not a integra specific part.

Either you did it, or a mod did it, and if a mod did it...I want to know who I need to slap around
When you try to drive that car, you're going to run into a HUGE problem. The TCU is integrated into the ECU. That means that with an automatic transmission, you have to match the ECU to the transmission, which means you also have to match the engine, as well as all of the sensors. You're going to play hell getting everything to play nice together.

Re: need help eg 1.5 motor and automatic tranny in ek
The D15B8 wants a P05 ecu.
I know the D16Z6 (P28 ECU) auto tranny was geared differently than the D15B7 (P06 ECU) auto tranny so shift points are rough using the wrong ecu, I don't know if it is different again with the D15B8 (P05 ECU) auto tranny.
If you are in the states, finding salvage yard 92-95 "CX" cars shouldn't be that difficult and you can likely find an automatic P05 ecu to step down properly to.
