Default b16a2 plastigage results. what do we think.

Going by the following pics. Would you say these are good results?
Fitted with new standard fitment acl bearings.

did you clean the journals well? i say this because any oil left over can cause a false reading.

Yes. Cleaned with microfiber and torqued to 45lb with lube arp2000 bolts

Is it just me or does metric plastigauge look a lot bigger than american standard?

I'd say it looks to be just a hair less than 1.5 so I'd say it's right about 1.4mm .

Curious how big (diameter) your plastigauge is before you squish it? How much bigger than fishing line is it?

yeah i also use green for the bearing tolerances. isnt the red the next size larger making it harder to estimate...

Dont use plastigauge..u should use plastigage in inch or mm..

I would also suggest green as it is supposed to be more accurate under .003 clearance BUT I would also recommend using outside micrometers and a dial bore gauge if you plan on building your own engines.

The inherent subjectivity of Plastigage is no replacement for the +/-.0001 of micrometers and a bore gauge or inside micrometer. If you margin of error on plastigage is +/-.0005 up to .001 then it's potentially 30-50% error on your exact clearance.

assuming that's measuring in thousandths, I would say 0.0013-0.0014" is a little tight on the rods.
