If you're in the USA and have seatbelts in your doors, then I don't think they'll work.
If you're in Canada or Europe and don't have seatbelts in yours doors they will work. If you don't have power windows, the cut out for the door handles will be too large.
If you do have OEM power window switches meant for RHD CRXs and your master switch is on the right side it will fit fine.
If you have OEM power window switches meant for LHD CRXs (or for RHD CRXs and you moved the master switch to the left side) the cut out for the door handles on the right side will still be too large, and the left side too small.
Why wouldn't it fit on a USDM door? From my knowledge the difference between JDM doors and USDM doors was a reinforcement bar and maybe an inch difference in measurements? Not worried about looking my seat belts going harness.
1990-91, Americans were not wearing their seat belts. So, the government forced automakers to put automated seat belts in all cars.
The result in the civic was this huge bulge (contains the belt retracting motor) on the end of the door panel seen here.
If you're not using the factory seat belt, then you should be able to use the SiR panel if you remove the belt. But you will have to deal with the minor details jhmed mentioned.
For the record, our government isn't really trying to be paternalistic, it is just trying to save us money on insurance premiums. Yeah..........that's it for sure.
I thought everything was different. The shape of the B pillar was different as is the trim parts on the rear quarter window. Even the interior trim panels are different. Not worth the hassle.
The biggest hassle I had was the on the clips that hold the carpet to the door still. Other than that you just have to notch the corner as seen in my second picture. There maybe a bracket you have to move over as well. I did it having the entire door and door panel from an actual 88 CRX that I had as a parts car. The door still isn't actually needed in the swap, it is just a nice to have.
I love the pocket though. All of my CRXs currently have the pocket. The SiR has pockets on both sides.
