Default Burning Oil.

So my friend rebuilt my motor, two weeks later it blows. So I take I bite the bullet and take it to a shop for a hg replacement and to check the head for warping. So after that it blows again. Being fed up with the whole deal I buy another car and leave my DA alone. One year later I decided to do some work and check out my block. So, I drop the oil pan and "wtf is that"? It was a torn off peice of a latex glove stuck in the oil pump filter. My real question being, would that have caused my car to overheat and blow two head gaskets that quick?

Don't replace your car..replace your friend that has piece of his glove missing...lol

It's possible but I'm surprised a CEL or engine oil light didn't come on. During the rebuild did you purchase and have a new water pump and thermostat installed? DId you or your friend check pistone compression at any time? Was the cylinder head ever taken to a machine shop and resurfaced to spec? Was the block's mating surface ever checked for straightness within spec?

You're leaving out a shitload of details that may help besides a piece of glove found in crankcase. Obviously though anything other than oil in crankcase is not good.

Lack of oil = lack of lubrication, lack of lubrication is metal on metal contact which will cause a HUGE heat problem = warping metal and gaskets.

Avoid any of the people that helped you before.

Any number of things could have caused the engine to blow "that quickly". It sounds like whoever did your engine rebuild shouldn't be allowed around tools, let alone an engine rebuild.

Sue your friend for negligence and for causing you emotional trauma and go buy a new civic with the money.
