Wasssup peeps! I need your help!! this guy is selling his shell for a really good price and everything looks good but the problem is on the title it does not say his name on and it still on The first owner's name .. he told me that the guy that he got it from just gave it to him as a gift. Is there a way i could find out if this is stolen or not? I'ts a little fishy to me...

to trasfer the title your gonna need the bill of sale you guys write up, and you have to ask him from the bill of sale from when he got it from the guy.

 

if he has the title, i doubt it's stolen.

 

Maybe he just bought it... figured he couldn't do anything with it at the moment and still just hasn't done the title changeover yet... just get him to go with you to the DMV and they will straighten it out.

 

yeah i know what you mean but arent you supposed to get a yellow slip(deed of sale) if you buy someones car ?

 

When I bought my hatchback, I didn't change the title over right away and ended up selling it 6 months later with the other guy's name still on the title. He had already signed everything on it and that's all they needed.

 

so you saying its safe? the title is clean is just the name of the previous owner is still there... ill probably pass by the dmv today and ask these questions...
