Code 1 02 Sensor issue

Icon6 Code 1 02 Sensor issue

so I got this code 1 check engine light comes on I belive its the 02 sensor car was running fine even with this check engine light on. I go to Oreilly get a new 02 sensor Denso pop it in Reset my ECU and now the problem got really bad car runs sluggish RPMs bounce check engine light comes on for a second or two it goes off it want to die out, on the highway RPMs going crazy. please help Advise please.

What year, model and engine do you have? What kind of other maintenance has been done?

change distributor due to coil burned and alternator

sounds like something went wrong when you installed the new distributor.

Possibly (but doubtful) that you put the new distributor on with it rotated 180 degrees.
I think the tab only goes in one way into the cam slot, but worth checking anyway.

Do you still have your old distributor?
Swap out coils (easy) with the one from the new distributor and give it a go.

agree, it wasnt the o2 sensor. its a problem with the distributor.
