No vtec...no thermostat
Have a b16 in a circle track race car fully build motor..during a race the car got hot 230f took of track cooled it down. Fill radiator back up with water next day and ran it got hot right back up to around 220f in just a couple laps. Cooled car down and figured thermostat was closed shut. Compression test and cooling system pressure test were good..so no head gasket problem. Took thermostat out and cut the guts out and put it back in so if was free flowing, but not fully because part of thermostat was still in housing. Car ran a constant 170f on track for race. Now to the problem.
For the first half of the race car was around 140f and vtec wasn't kicking in. I run a s300 p28 ecu is there somthing that I can change to have vtec kick in even when the coolant temp isn't high enough. Motor was plenty warm. Before we race.
