Cyl missfire codes, please help
ok well yesterdayi get a 71 and a 74 for cyl 1 and 4 senses missfire.
so i pull my plugs and they are charcolaed. . . all of them . so then i remmeber since i took off my header and test pipe, i didnt change my vafc. so i set everythign back to 0 on the vafc levels. and put in some other plugs i had sitting around and all was cool reset the code and hoped for the best. now on my way home from school like a 1/2 hr ago it comes back . same code. i check the plugs, they look fine , a little rich , but nothing abnormal from a Typr with with my mods and untuned. so i drive home and it feels fine , so for ***** and giggle si gas it hard and it picks up and goes just as there were no probs wit it at all .
So i got home and put my stock plug wires back in . thinking maybe there was a problem with my MSD's, it happened to a friend of mine . . . so im hoping it wont vcome back
right now in the transition to a new set up the car is almost back to stock . . .
i/e/fpr/fuel rail/fuel pump/vafc now untuned/igntion/plug wires /cap and thats about it . . . . any suggestions as to what else to look for if it comes back .
the next thing i will check is the connections for the vafc? maybe that is thorwing it off, but nothing changed with that ,, and the actual igntion it self?im hoping its notihng in the distribtupr.
any help would be apprecicated.

Do you have an Helm manual. If so take a look in section 11, they list all the probable cause for a misfire in there.
From memery misfire can be cause by bad plugs, bad ignition wires or bad distrbutor cap, problem with fuel delivery (injectors, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, clog fuel filter), problem with the VTEC system, loss of compression in the cylinders...

i knwo the valves arent bent . and i chanegd the plugs, now my stock wires are in . I hear that the AEM fprs go bad, thats the next thign i will check .

no , but i know they are not bent , its something else .i just dont knwo what yet, i know its nothign internal with bent valves , i wouldnt be driving it right now , it would actually be giving me problems instead of a cel . and like i said ,t he car still has all its power , it even feels a bit peppier

my idle isnt any diff than what it was before hand . ill do a comp check this weekdn , just for ***** and giggles, someone else was having this same problem and said something about the coolanty bubbling up and the aem fpr going bad.
stock cams , al the mods are listed on the orig post i took out my NGKs and put in boshe plat 4, thats all i had laying around .also took out my msd wires and put the stock ones back on . also reswet my vafc levels to 0

im trying to find the ones i ahd stock i hd my colder ones in from nitrous.
fuel pressure should be at like 50-52 somewhere in there.
