Default 2004 Honda Accord bad Receiver/Dryer

Hello,

I have a 2004 Honda Accord Ex 2.4L. A couple of years ago, the system was refilled with refrigerant incorrectly. An attach and fill system was bought from autozone, connected to the low side, then flipped upside down. After a short time, the compressor relief valve sounded. The hose was disconnected, and the high pressure was relieved (using proper evacuation methods, of course), then slowly filled back up to appropriate levels.

Present day testing:
Ambient Temperature: 85F
Humidity: 50%

The system was filled to low side pressure of about 25 psi, but high side pressure would not go much higher than 100-110 psi. Compressor stayed on with no cycling. When revved to 2000 rpm, the compressor relief valve activated. Hose at high side port is ambient to the touch. Hose coming from compressor is VERY hot; too hot to tap.

It seems like there is a blockage in the high side, so I plan to replace the receiver/dryer. However, I want to be sure to consider all possibilities. I realize that the condenser could be blocked, but I want to check the dryer before getting into that mess.

My main questions:

Thanks! Please let me know if I left out any information crucial to troubleshooting.

        EDIT 2/27/2016

I ended up fixing my problem. I evacuated the system, and when I got the Receiver/Dryer off, it was evident that the dessicant pack had broken open, and the dessicant was clogging the condenser. I replaced the receiver/dryer, the condenser, and whichever o-rings I could easily access, and nothing else. 8 months later and it's still working beautifully! Good luck

99% of these items have sealant of some sort in them that eventually cause havoc through out the entire AC system. Thats why they are sold to clueless,DIYers.

I suggest the contents of the AC system be identified before any further troubleshooting.....
