after 20 years and 330k it's time to swap out the front struts to see if it solves my high speed vibration issue (dude with a honda van said it solved his problem and i've tried everything else). my friend is giving me some kyb struts with springs that came off a 94 ls with 150k. should i go to the trouble of swapping the aged gs-r springs or just pop them in as is? plan b would be $300 for new showa struts and springs when i have the cash. thoughts?

new to me too but the odyssey guy said it worked for him.
the issue is not as bad now but still there.
passenger side axle is now the main suspect
as driver's side and shaft are newer.
bearings swapped out about 10 months ago.
tires rotated, no change. update next week after axle swap.

inner/outer tie rods just replaced. re-did the rear suspension about 10 years ago
when those nasty trailing arm bushings were toast. this mentions worn shocks
as a culprit so it is possibile factor:
Diagnosing Causes of Steering & Suspension Vibration
it really is a throw parts at it guessing game:

another oddity: vibe is more pronounced on asphalt highway, on concrete it is far more subtle to nonexistent. wtf?

Your integra uses double wishbones. A blown shock COULD cause vibration while hitting bumps since it won't control the spring anymore. But it doesn't correlate to the wheel hub directly like a McPherson suspension does.
Check your upper and lower ball joints. Uppers should be checked while the car is on the ground...not in the air. Grab the wheel at 12 o clock and pull/push on it. See if you get movement.
Tie rods are another likely culprit.
Are the tires themselves fully round? Or do you have one that's defective?
You've checked Axles?
Bent wheels?
Wheel balance is most likely, depending on your situation. Even if you've recently had it done. I had a car that ended up 3 OZ. (!!!!!!!!!) out of balance because of a badly calibrated balancer...or maybe a drunk installer. Since all 4 tires were unbalanced....a rotation did notuing. I used to work at a tire shop. If they're not using a dryer for their air...water can puddle in the tire and cause a tire that comes out of balance after it sits a while. And I've seen lots of balancers come out of calibration.
At 330K, I'd replace the shocks/springs anyway. But it may not solve your problem.

inner outer tie rods and ball joints done last summer.
tires rotated, no change. drivers axle and shaft are fairly new.
bushings just done. front shocks springs done, no change.
passenger axle goes in this weekend.
vibe was noticeable a few days ago, yesterday not as much.
nothing else done during that time.
watch eric trash a new axle lol:
skip to minute 10 to cut to the chase.

soooo finally got a new empire cv in the passenger side.
the 65mph-ish vibe is reduced but still present tho subtle.
who knows the cardone axle i put in the other side last summer
could have issues too. once i get above 70 it goes away so like the doctor
says if it hurts when you you drive 65 then dont do it.
vaguely irritating but i'll live with it for now.
gotta get new tires in the fall to pass inspection maybe that will help.

well got annoyed again and bought empire drivers side axle since amazon cc credits got it delivered to the door for 45 clams but no change in the vibe. then saw eric car guy's mount and balance vid and noted the remark that honda rims dont like generic balancing weights. pulled driver tire and sure enough one of the balancing weights was separating a few mm on one side. pounded it back down and the issue is improved but still getting a very subtle vibe here and there. front lower motor mounts inspection reveals a pair of droopy saggy looking ******* indeed so window weld breast lift trick is next. also got a/c working after resistor replace didnt do anything til after ecu reset today??? thank god for small miracles! also: may never need to buy anymore axles!8)

bump to report window welding all mounts has virtually eliminated my vibe issue which was perhaps actually wheel hop. i used 2 tubes of dow u-428, an amazing fix for $15 lol.
also the empire driver side axle i ordered actually has a harmonic balancer thing.
the previous cardone axles werent the issue in this case. i might be set for life axle wise.
