99 civic si - front lower engine mounts necessary?
Hey my friend recently bought a civic si and I took a look at it and saw that there was no front lower engine mount , right and left , are those engine mount really necessary ? He been driving like that about 2-3 mont no stress.
thanks and sorry for my shitty english.

Those mounts are torque mounts. Are they necessary? Strictly speaking no. Should he have them? If the rest of his mounts are OEM, definitely, yes. The engine should have two engine mounts (one on either side) and three torque mounts (two in the front, one in the rear). When part of that system is missing, it puts more stress on the rest of the system, which is going to make one of them fail prematurely.
Is your buddy interested in the answer? It seems only you are, but it's his car.
Well I was just wondering , I didnt even tell him ... I saw that his valve cover corner was hitting the hood a bit thats why I wanted to know if it was related but im guessing its the rear mount that is dead.
Yes thanks ! Ill tell him to install them , I didnt know it could really make the engine hit the hood because of that.
Im pretty sure hes gonna care , if he dont well cant do much , I just like to help my friend lol.
