I know this thread is pretty old but i'm having the same problem with my civic. I just replaced the d15 with a d16 but kep the dual port fuel injection. THe car starts out really slow and shifts to 2nd gear at 5-10mph and lugs. Once the rpms gets up it feels MUCh better, feels peppy and can get up to speed quickly. However when taking off it is slow to the point where i think there is a problem.

Is there a solenoid i can replace? It's a 1991 civic jdm zc motor with d15 transmission. THe tranny was just serviced not long ago. What about a torque converter? Is it the entire transmission? Thanks

 

Adjust your transmission cable. I think the manual calls it a throttle control cable. It is an easy fix.

 

There is a cable adjustment from the throttle body to the automatic transmissions. If it is out of adjustment, the shift points will be all wrong.

If you google 92-95 factory service manual, you can get the adjustment procedure for your transmission. After that if that doesn't fix your issue, the FSM will have further steps and repairs you can do.

I moved your post into it's own thread and referenced the old thread. I'm sure you are not aware but that is the method used on these boards instead of bumping old threads. Explanation provided purely as an FYI.
