I own a 91' Honda Accord with a large aftermarket sunroof. After purchasing a new part containing a new cruise control button (which then fixed my cruise control) and a stock sunroof switch I had decided to splice this new button and harness to the old switch which would free a spot for a switch which was previously held by the sunroof switch and would look much nicer! The problem is that I'm not quite sure how to wire this new switch in. I am assuming that my car had a stock sunroof as there is a harness that clips into the switch right where the switch is in place, but was never occupied as the sunroof operated off another switch. If any info can be provided as to what wires do what and how this could work out it would be much appreciated. I also am not sure the new switch works to begin with. Sorry for the length I'm only trying to be thorough, I am more than happy to answer any questions anybody has and would love some help! Thanks in advance!
The new switch with the cruise switch.
The new switch harness wire colors from top to bottom are as follows: Green w/ yellow stripe; green w/ red stripe; solid black; red w/ black stripe; solid red
The old switch
The old switch harness with colors as follows: Top left: Red; middle left: Green; middle right: Brown; bottom left: Brown; bottom right: Black
Upon further investigation I had traced the wires down under my dash to find that the two brown wires lead to a chassis ground, which were horribley pig tied together, but that's beside the point.
Hey! Thanks a bunch Coolswimmer, that helps a bunch. With all this info ill definitely be able to look into I more I depth and maybe figure out exactly how it could be wired up! Much appreciated, I'll take a look at it tomorrow and come back with the results as soon as I can! Thank you again!
