Default The NEW NSX

Ill never come remotely close to owning one of these, but my buddy had a prototype up till Monday.

An old friend of mine works for American Honda in Marysville,OH. He is currently developing the braking system for the new NSX. He has a dream job. He works shitloads of hours but for the last 4 yrs he has been driving the worlds fastest cars evaluating the braking systems for Honda. Ferraris, Porsche 918, McClarren p1, audi and who knows what else. They've flown him to all the major race tracks in the USA and also to Suzuka in Japan and the even the ring. He had his own test mule up until Monday when Honda crushed it. He asked to drive it home 1 time and they said absolutely not. I was surprised to learn they ended up bench marking the car against the Audi R8. He said they want to keep the cost down and some of these cars cost 10-15000$ to overhaul the brakes. Dario Franchitti is on his way to the plant this week to evaluate the car for them. I was also told they are having a very tough time meeting the release date for production. Any questions you would like to know ask me and ill see if he will give me any info. I doubt he will say hp numbers though. He is reluctant to give me to much info since I kinda leaked something once.
When Honda was testing the 2 muffler crf250f a few years back he told me about it a year early. I was at the Indianapolis Motorcycle dealer show and I happen to meet mitch payton from Pro Circuit. After a long conversation I had a bag full of pro circuit swag and Mitch new about the new thumper. He didn't get in trouble as no names were ever released but all the engineers got an *** chewing. He new it was me, but he said he would have done the same thing lol.

As for the new ctr he said its not being developed in Marysville and will go into production next year. I guess this is old news though.

I've driven the R8 V10 on track and it's no slouch at braking..at all. Thanks for sharing.

IMHO, Hondas have an institutional reputation for being under braked, including NSX 1.0. For me, I'd hope that the system is linear and extremely fade resistant.
