Hey this is my first post on here, I'm new to hondas, I was driving and I came to a stop and then when I went to move again it wouldn't go anywhere. It used to make popping noises when it would hit pot holes. Would i need a new axle? Or can i just pop this one back in. Thank you for your help.

Did it fall out, or did it break? Take a picture from under the car, so we can actually see the axle.
That is something you, a friend, or a mechanic will need to determine. We can't do that for you online- someone needs to physically look at it.
What year and make is the car? Are you sure you're in the correct forum?
It's a 2002 civic 5speed. Well when I look at it, what are the things that I should look for? I've done a lot of work on cars but never anything like this
Find one of these manuals, either new or used. Click Me. You're going to need it. And it's better than any other manual.
But after having a second look, it looks like it snapped and fell out of the inboard CV. Look at This picture. If #6 is still in the diff, the axle is broken.
EDIT: The link for the manual- click it twice. I know it sounds odd, and it is, but it takes you to the homepage the first time; second click will take you to the manual. If it doesn't, just Google search "Helm 61S5C01" and click the second search result. (61S5C01 - Helm Inc.)
Also available is a digital copy, if you prefer that to a physical copy.
