VTEC not engaging after LSD Transmission installed!
Welp, can't seem to find any other helpful information while I was researching other than a thread from 2003 but there was never a conclusion for it. About 5 days ago, I installed a used JDM ITR 95-97 Spec transmission on my LS/V engine Integra. Mind you that VTEC was engaging just fine before I did the whole swap but now it doesn't. My oil levels are fine, I didn't mess with anything on the engine other than removing the intake induction tube during the entire swap. I get a CEL but it comes on BECAUSE VTEC didn't engage so it can't be that. My doubtful guess is that the factory VSS doesn't match up to the different trans or that I lost ground from the transmission ground wire, but like I said, these are doubtful guesses. The only other thing I did was make a DIY catch can but that was like a 1-2 days after I installed the transmission and I didn't feel VTEC engage at the time either. Any thoughts?
Pulled Code 22, VTEC Pressure switch, nothing unusual. Like I said, VTEC was engaging just fine before I swapped transmission and I didn't touch anything on the engine side. I have no oil pressure light turned on nor any loose connections. The only thing I did recall doing was putting threadlocker paste around the VTEC pressure switch since the original o-ring disintegrated and the torqued the pressure switch back down to 18ft-lbs.
Jump the positive wire from the pressure switch plug to the 12volt on the vtec wire. Should fool the computer to thinking the pressure system works.

Temporary to permanent fix. Up to you if you want to leave it on forever like that. Or just have your ECU chipped and remove the need for an oil pressure for vtec.
I'll see if it fixes my problem, if it does or I can't find anything else that causes my problem I'll just cough up the money and order a new chip from phearable.net
I got myself the Moates Burn 2. $50 on craigs with 2 chips. Also just got my xenocron data logging cable. i get to change up my chip everyday.
goodluck. let me know how it goes
Stuffed a paper clip into the postive wire of the VTEC pressure switch plug and then into the VTEC solenoid plug and it still isn't engaging.
use a 14-16 gauge wire. remove the vtec solenoid. check to see if the gasket is dirty. also if the vehicle previously didn't come with vtec and you have had to run the vtec wires, check to see if they are making connection.

Did you accidently unplug the connector at the vtec solenoid? If your car was an LS converted to LSVTEC , someone had to do the wiring, check wiring... I bet something was unplugged since your work area for the transmission is generally on the same side......I believe one side of the pins for the connector at the vtec solenoid is for a ground... Is it still grounded?
I alone was working on the transmission and the only that was disconnected was the battery, started motor since I had to take it out and the plug that connects to the back of the transmission. I did all the wiring for LS/VTEC and it was right because my VTEC was engaging before. I seriously don't know how could something not cause it to engage after just a transmission swap.
Don't see anything different. I never messed with anything on the engine side so it's really strange that it just doesn't work anymore
maybe this will help. Maybe the switch went bad idk

Hopefully the "road test" works if my car is on a lift and I'm accelerating in the air instead of the streets. Don't want to rev my car up to 6k and in first gear lol..
Took it apart and cleaned it up with brake cleaner. Used a washer and put some teflon tape around the thread of the pressure switch and that seemed to help a bit. The threadpaste I used must've screwed up the switch and so now I need to replace it. It engages VTEC but if I try to upshift after enganging it, it gives me a CEL for the VTEC pressure switch. It probably got screwed up when I first used the paste but didn't notice it because I don't rev up to 5k anymore.
Just try replacing the switch it's like 20 bucks online..if the switch is messed up even a little bit it's messes with the pressure created to engage vtec.
