Icon2 Would like some opinions about this body damage

As you can see in the photos, the right side door post was cut to bend the post back out and bolt the door hinge on.

Get this rewelded? sell this and buy another cheap car?
Any input is helpful
Thanks

Sell...rust is developing. Body work can be a pain and if not done right will continue to rust.

If it's rust you are worried about cover all the rust spots in POR15 (this is assuming you can reach all of the spots). Here is what you will want to buy:
Amazon.com: POR-15 Super Starter Kit - Black: Automotive Amazon.com: POR-15 Super Starter Kit - Black: Automotive

Make sure to also pick up a paint respirator if you care to not get brain damage and a box of latex gloves because you don't want POR15 on your skin (not only will it be absorbed into you but it will stay on you for a week). I'd also get something to keep it from tearing open more or bending if force is applied to the door. Maybe you can get a sheet of metal on there using the 3m panel bond (or if you can weld, weld a sheet of metal on). This is just my recommendation. It may not be the cleanest nor the fastest Civic, but it's yours.

just curious, what does this look like from the outside? if it's a good car, and it gets you from A to B, and it's only temporary, then there you go.

but if you plan on doing anything to it (ie your project), I'd look for something else. I personally wouldn't put a minute of work on that car, you'll never be pleased with it. Either use it as a beater, or get something better.

I have a wagon I got in far better condition for $200, with a blown head gasket mind you, but that was an easy fix in comparison to that... Unless you're a body guy and that sort of thing is easy for you.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for all the input guys!
@Mithious That's the thing. You're right, I won't ever be happy with it, and it would cost more than it's worth to make it that way. I think I'll just drive it for a minute and then sell it when i have some more money to buy another car with.
Almost want to see if i can get 1.5k for it and then buy this 97 civic hatchback 161k miles

I would not even ask that much. That car takes another hard impact on that side and the passenger would be killed or severely injured. If you're serious about a project you should just scoop up another shell and transfer parts over to the clean shell. If you know what you're doing you can have the new shell up and running in a day or two, and in your free time swap over the interior pieces and miscellaneous parts

Sell that old shell for scrap metal, or cut it up and sell the quarter panels on eBay and you might even break even from the price of the clean shell
