can anyone help me figure out if this is a type r head?? It's mounted to a c5 block so I'm hoping it is

Can you get any pics of the head stampings? Should say PR3, also the dual valve springs are a tell tale sign as well.

I couldn't really see whether the springs were dual or not because of the way they are angled

The PR-3 does not have anything to do
That PR3-X is just the casting stamp for the head. It ranges from PR3-1 to PR3-4. It could also be a B16 head.

I'm aware of all that I'm hoping one of these pictures will help someone that knows more than me to identify this head, I've read and read and gotten as far as I can with it so a reply stating something I've read 100 times already is unnecessary.

there's no way to tell 100% , if u want to know %100 u need to pull it apart !

Then again it could be a b16 head with type r internal , or vide versa !

Ps u should change ur oil more often ....

Reference to the third picture, I don't see the green paint near where the end of the fuel rail meets the distributor. Also, if all the internal parts are original, the bigger seats of the LMAs will indicate that this is an ITR head.

What is it date stamped, should be 97-01 with a PR3-X and then still very difficult to tell from a B16 SI head
