Default car will barely run? Fuel starvation??

I have an 89 CRX. It has a D16Z6 in it. It idles rough and sputters and cuts out when you give it gas. It will barely make it down the road. The gas tank was rusty so I replaced it. I had already put a new fuel pump in about a month ago. The check engine light is not on and hasn't come on. Any ideas on the problem? Fuel starvation possibly? I need help!!!

I actually ran new 6an stainless line from the pump to the fuel rail with a new inline filter between it. I didn't change the fuel pump sock filter when I replaced the tank. It didn't look bad at all. Could that be an issue?

So I've been doing more research on here. Filled my car completely up with gas today. It will idle great. It will rev up in neutral good, but when going down the road it cuts out and Boggs down unless you keep the rpm's above 4000. It will run a hole in the wind at that point. Unsure why it revs up and idles smooth as silk, but cuts out driving unless rpm's are that high. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I replaced the distributor cap and put new wires on it. Didn't help at all. I have a stock d16a6 I pulled out of it. Does anyone know if the tps is the same on both engines. I'm gonna try and swap the two out and see if that helps. I'm running out of people to borrow a car from.

I am not throwing a single code. Check engine light hasn't even blinked. I am not sure about the igniter coil you mentioned. It gets about 100 in the summer and cold on the winter. I am in west Tennessee.

I just drove it some more. It seems that when I baby it, it will drive ok for a little while. As soon as I wrap the rpm's around through a couple of gears, and slow back down and give it gas, it just cuts out and tries to die. I can stop and take back off slowly, and it just sputters and barely goes. If you sit still and just rev it up, it won't cut out like it does driving. If you cut the car off and wait a few minutes, you can take back off and it will do ok for a mile or so, and it starts sputtering again. Thanks for any help, this thing has me stumped.

Sounds like the igniter is bad or a clogged fuel delivery component. Like a injector, filter or fuel pump sock

I might should have mentioned this earlier, but it has a high flow fuel pump, I think a walbro, with stainless lines and an inline filter. I installed this pump in my old tank before I got a new tank. It was rusty. When I pulled it out and put it in the new tank, the sock didn't look like it had any trash particles stuck around it or in it, but it was a rusty tint ? I just didn't understand how it would run wide open if it was clogged. Thanks for all the help guys, I feel like I'm making friends that I've never seen or even had a chance to talk too.

I had pretty much the same problem in my '91 Civic DX after I swapped a D16z6 in it. If I lightly pressed the gas, it would accelerate fine. If I mashed the gas, it would misfire and run rough until about ~3500 rpm. It ended up being the o2 sensor even though the car did not throw any codes. I checked the o2 voltage through hondata and it was all over the place. Once I replaced it the car ran great.

I also was getting way worse fuel mileage than the D15b2, about 28mpg vs 40 with the original motor. After the o2 sensor I am getting mid to high 30s again.
