problems with gas pickup after 150-200 miles
Hi I have a turbo'd 1997 civic ex coupe that I noticed after i turbo'd it about 150-200 miles after i fill up, it gets hard to start and towards 200-220 acts like it's out of fuel, but i know it's not because when i fill up it only takes about 6-7 gallons so there's still 3-4 gallons left depending how I drive. It's done this ever since I installed the walbro fuel pump but I don't remember breaking anything or messing with any wiring... I replaced the in-tank fuel filter and the one in the engine bay. That's about it, but no difference. Any suggestions?

take out the fuel pump and inspect it again.. make sure the filter of the fuel pump is reaching or fully inside the gas tank... if that doesnt solve the problem then adjust your fuel psi.. if you dont have a fuel pressure regulator then you need to get one..

the fuel pump is fine the filter reaches down to the gas tank all the way.. I quad-checked it when i changed the in-tank filter on the fuel pump.. Why would i want to change my fuel psi? I have a stock fuel regulator/fuel rail just have dsm 450cc injectors. There's gotta be something that went wrong just not sure what..

I'm not wasting any gas dude my fuel pressure is at about 37-40psi.. any excess fuel will go right back into the gas tank via fuel return line lol. Sure it has a higher capacity than the stock fuel pump but it's not my pressure that's the problem.
I get about 30-32 MPG STILL!

Re: problems with gas pickup after 150-200 miles
after about 200-220 miles it will act as if it is completely empty of gas nearly, sputtering and stuff. Soon as gas tank is filled with 6-7 gallons (that's all it takes) it will start up instantly and run awesome

This thread reported a similar problem that turned out to be caused by detachment of the fuel pick-up screen or in tank fuel filter from the fuel pump.

That is VERY interesting information... Funny thing is when i checked the fuel filter (in tank) screen, it was attached.. However it is and was attached using a screw-nut threaded unto the fuel pump so it is a little possible for air bubbles to the culprit.. I may just try this adhesive stuff!

Sorry to bump a super old post but I still have this problem and sealing the in-tank fuel filter to the fuel pump didn't change anything for me. Still exact same problem.

Yes. I think im going to run the gas level low and then drain the tank, and replace both filters again. Thats what my tuner suggested and what I was thinkinh of doing.
