Newbie CEL 6 and s4 light on
Hi guys.
I'm pretty much a total newbie when it comes to cars but I wanted to ask you guys(the experts) if I should attempt to fix this problem myself.
I have a 1990 Honda Integra LS, Auto. All stock standard, no modifications.
When I start my car with the engine being cold it starts fine, however If I were to drive it for a certain amount of time (can be 20, 30 min or pretty much random) my CEL comes on and eventually my S4 light also comes on and it starts blinking. If I were to stop my car and then start it again with the engine being warm it will either start very very rough OR it won't start at all and the electrical power in my car cuts out completely.
I'm really not sure what the problem is but my ECU indicates a troublecode of 6 which on these cars I've heard it could indicate a indicate a PGM-FI fault (fuel injection).
Could anyone offer any advice here as to where would I start with this? or should I even attempt it or just take it to a mechanic and let them have a look?
Thanks in advance!
