CAR KEY PROBLEM - please read!!!
Hi!
Yesterday my car came back from paint-job...
since then I have problems starting my car...
It is all fine in the morning, there is no problem whatsoever... but if I drive the car, then stop i.e. to fill fuel or something similar, after I shut down the engine the following problem occurs.
I insert the key, turn to ON position, wait fuel pump to prime and immediately after fuel pump stops priming and CEL goes off, my immobiliser light starts blinking and car WOULD NOT START... it won't even crank... nothing!!!!!
For those who don't know which light I am talking about, it is GREEN LIGHT WITH A LITTLE KEY close to HAND BRAKE INDICATOR
That is what happens if I start to crank while the light is blinking...
If I let this light go off (like 15 seconds), the car starts cranking but it won't start...
It doesn't happen every time... sometimes it will start with no problems... sometimes I have to take the key out and then insert it again and then it would start... sometimes I have to do it 2-3 times...
Sometimes I don't even have to take the key out... I just turn it again to ON position and it starts immediately...
I tried with the spare key but the same thing happens...
I read somewhere that this happens because immobiliser system does not recognize the key and that it is common for Honda Civic, especially in warm days...
What can I do to solve this problem? can I just by-pass immobiliser system?
And one more thing... everything was fine before the paint-job...
HELP ME cos having to turn/insert key 5-6 times before car starts is irritating as hell...
