Flickering oil light 92 Accord EX
92 Accord EX.When I drive my car,the oil light flickers.I know it's about 1/2 quart low.I am planning to change the oil,but I'd like to know why the light flickers while I drive. When the car is still,it's off.I checked the wire to the oil pressure sending unit. All looks fine there. What else?Could it just be the low oil in combo with the hills around my area?Old oil?
if the oil is too thin it may cause the oil light to flicker on.
However, these oil pressure switches are known to fail. They usually leak, and cause flickering. Usually cheaper/easier to replace the oil sensor and then see if the light still flickers, if so then it is time to do further diagnostics.

I wouldn't wait to test the oil pressure. If it's indeed the oil pump or bearings, ur d'icked. Better to find out sooner than later.

My car isn't being driven. It's a car I got a deal on from a family member. It will be a back up car.I'm doing some work on it,slowly, as I get the time and cash.I'm planning to install a real temp and oil pressure gauges.I have been let down before by inaccurate factory gauges.
