1992 Honda Accord f22 +future swap build
Hi everyone this is my first post as a member on the forum. Got shunned on some other car forums so now I'm here. This is my current project/build.
Anyway I need help with information on swapping the f22 to f20b dohc (Might change what engine later I haven't completely decided):
What upgrades, not too expensive, that I could do to the engine before installing it?
And are their any suggestions for the build (Besides saying I should do an h22...)
Thanks!!
Things I've already done:
-Replaced master relay (So that it would run consistently)
-New sway bar bushings
-205/45/R17 tires
-17" Focus rims
-Anthracite PlastiDip job
-Passenger side race seat done, driver side left
-Under dash LED glow multicolored glow kit
-Pioneer Bluetooth Head Unit
-Replaced all the speakers with Kicker 300 watt RMS
-Painted door speaker covers
-15% Tint all of the rear, and 30% tint on front +6" strip of tint on windshield
-Suede shifter boot with red stitching
-Aftermarket shifter ****
-Black mesh grill
Still to do:
-Driver race seat mount
-Tail Lights Si (Broken and leaking currently)
-Head Lights (Broken turn signals)
-Master Brake Cylinder (Slight pumping needed because of dirt in line)
-F20B DOHC Engine and LSD Tranny
-Interior Dash Remin aluminum kit
-Mini Door Interior lights replace (Getting dim)
-Lower it
-Mini Mic for stereo (For phone)
-Replace rotors
-Rear drum brakes paint black
-Bigger Calipers?
-Dash clock fix? (Dimming in and out)
-Apolster rear seat
-Apolster headliner
-Exhaust for good sounds with magna flow cats and muffler (No fart cannon)
-Cold air intake

Re: 1992 Honda Accord f22 to f20b DOHC swap build/Help???
Just went through a lot of posts. Nothing really answering if it's a direct swap with engine mounts, A/C, and Power steering. Those are the main thing's I'm worried about.

Bump
Does any one know anything on if I can keep my A/C+Power Steering. Or suggestions on a specific turbo for the f20b Dohc with low compression pistons.

To have power steering set up right (though you can use your old setup with a certain size belt), you should go to the JY and pick up a H23/H22 pw steering bracket along with its hose. That way it will be flush and won't make your hood rattle when driving down the road.
AC you can use your setup. Nothing special there. If you want to convert from OBD I to OBD II, its fairly simply. Get some OBD I H22 injectors or use your own with a FPR (I think you can do this fairly easily), along with a OBD I H22 ECU. The top half of the intake manifold will have to be changed to a H23 or H22 OBD I version so that you can use your IACV with the 2 wires instead of 3.
The front engine mount bracket will have to be changed; use your original bracket and bolts.
Fairly simple swap. You really shouldn't be swapping this tho unless you custom tune it out, the 2.0 liter engine is fairly small to put in a heavy chassis like an Accord and keep stock. But, if you want a sporty, low priced, fresh engine to put in your beater, its good choice.

Re: 1992 Honda Accord f22 to f20b DOHC swap build/Help???
If you want to go NA F22 or F23, that is also a good option. These engines perform very well tuned with a good cam and intake/exhaust/fuel and tune. F23 bottom end is better though because of the bigger stroke/torque. There's a guy called JDMAccorn on the Cb7tuner forum who runs a F23 hybrid motor (F23 block F22a head) making amazing torque numbers. Re: 1992 Honda Accord f22 to f20b DOHC swap build/Help???
hello all, I just bought a 5spd 92 honda accord and need info on the ignition wiring. I have keys but it looks like it was ran with wiring to the starter (white+black) back to fuse box. I ran over a bunch of bumps in rd and the car just went off while driving. I moved the wires beneath my legs by clutch and started working again, however alot more bumps let to stop working. I see some tape came undone, does anyone know how to rewire so it will start direct?. jdvandenberg369@hotmail.com
