96 Civic EX - cam gear sheared off. See anything wrong with head (pics)?
Couple months back picked up an EX no start. After messing w/ it a few weeks ago I found that the Keyway on the cam gear had been sheared off.
" I am not a mechanic" but instead of installing a cam gear and setting the timing etc etc I didn't want to go through all of that and find out the valves were smashed since I have no history on the car. So here are a few pics please lmk if you see anything wrong w/ this head as I am not 100% on what to look for, and it looks ok to me.

Looks like the valves at the top left may have made contact with the pistons but hard to tell from the picture. I would inspect those closely. If they did make contact it's very likely that they are bent and won't move/seal correctly.
Also I would suggest draining all oil and coolant before continuing on. I would have drained the coolant at a minimum before pulling the head.

Next time drain the block dummy and you wont have all that water in your cylinders. There should be a bolt behind the exhaust manifold on the tranny side.
Send that head to a machine shop that specializes in head repairs. They will strip it down clean all that crap off the valves check the head surface, install new valve seals and reinstall it all.
Then you just pop a new headgasket on and done

The valves are messed up as mentioned.
I would just source a used motor instead of messing with having the head redone and hoping the bottom end is still good
