Think I might need a new tranny
I have a 2006 civic lx standard with 210k miles on it. Ive been a little rough on it for the last 60k miles delivering pizzas around town. The clutch went at 200k miles.
Anyway, a sound has started in the transmission that sounds like something is loose and spinning and is very noticeable at lower gears. I think I might have to replace the tranny soon, as the noise is getting louder.
My question is, what can I check before I change the tranny on a whim. Also, ive heard the ex version tranny has different gearing for slightly faster acceleration and worse fuel economy. Would tnis be compatible with my engine? Thank you.

my dad thought that too. The only thing is that the sound goes away when you push the clutch in. The sound will be audible in neutral. Push the clutch in and it goes away.
