Default 1984 honda crx problem

its a 1984 Honda crx 1.5 carbureted engine 5 speed, I got the car recently on a trade well car wasn't getting fuel I assumed it was carburetor issue so I rebuilt the carb, okay no big deal figured that out the carb wasn't spraying any fuel due to junk accelerator pump. now I found no fire well changed plugs and that brought back fire. well now the engine wants to crank and run but it only does it when I pat the gas hard. could this be due to the fuel pump being as it is a manual pump? I replaced distributor cap ect and checked all my electrical parts. and their fine so it must be a fuel issue?

You more than likely have a junk carb.

Step 1. Remove stock carb
Step 2. Throw it in the trash
Step 3. Get a Weber kit from Redline
Step 4. Install and enjoy
Step 5. Wonder why in the hell you hadn't done this already... LOL
