Chipped obd0 pr4 questions.
Hey everyone i feel kind of stupid asking but i recently picked up a chipped pr4 ecu that obd0. It has a reprogram able chip, i got it dirt cheap and it didnt come with a data logger or cable, do i need that? Also its got launch control, all i want to do is add boost to my car, i read somewhere you can only hit a certain hp with obd0 TRUE? I know people do the p28 and all that but i was just basically curious what i can do with this ecu?
There are hardly any good OBD0 tuners available anymore and so most people on that platform convert over to OBD1.
The PR4 can be tuned on TurboEdit. Head over to PGMFI.ORG for info...
PS: I still tune OBD0!

Only some OBD0 PR4's can be tuned. The older ones can be chipped, but they have no datalogging capability.
I have around 4 years of OBD0 tuning experience, but I'm a few states away from you.
At any rate, that chip will destroy your engine if you boost it. Not only do you need ARP head studs and larger injectors at a bare minimum, but you NEED to get it tuned. If your engine has over 100,000 miles on it, don't bother boosting it until you rebuild it, or your bearings won't last the weekend.
If there are no OBD0 tuners in your area, your only option is to upgrade to OBD1.
Or come to Colorado.
