Can I use anti seize or lock tite to seal off fuel filter?
Car: Honda Civic 97 si
EJ9 Hatchback
Manual Transmission
D14A4 Engine
The screw on (the fuel tank side of) the fuel filter has no gasket or washers. It keeps leaking on me and I think its cross threading a bit.
I have anti seize for plugs and blue lock tite.
Can any of these be used as a thread sealant?
(sorry if this is a stupid question.)
Edit: Issue has been resolved. I acquired another new filter and torqued it to spec.

Hello and thanks for the detailed reply.
Yes I am aware of these, but they are meant for the Banjo Bolt, not the fuel feed screw. (on the fuel tank/pump side of the filter. sorry if this was not clear). Thats what I call the screw, but there is surely a better/more common designation.
Notice #14 on your drawing. It is your version of the input/screw on my filter. Mine is underneath the filter.

Please read the rules sticky. Car information required for all tech posts.
This helps us help you with the correct diagrams and such.
Failure to comply will likely result in a thread lock.

No, neither can be used as sealant on that type of fitting. The only answer is the correct way. If it's cross-threaded, replace it.
He's having issues with fitting #14 in the above diagram. It's this type of fitting

If it's leaking, teflon isn't going to do anything for it.

I have now installed a third filter. It did the job.
